Regular Decision
Regular Decision
Application Deadline – January 15
Notification – By April 1, information about merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid will arrive with the acceptance packet
There are three possible admission outcomes for Regular Decision applicants:
Students may be invited to join the Providence College community
If an applicant is invited, the student is offered admission beginning in the upcoming Fall term, contingent upon successful completion of the senior year of high school. Candidates have until the national college reply deadline of May 1 to choose to enroll at Providence College.
Students may be placed on the waiting list for admission
Each year, many more qualified students apply to Providence College than we can enroll in the freshman class. While a certain percentage of students must therefore be denied admission (see below), there are many other students whom we select for a place on our waiting list. Students placed on the waiting list will be considered for available class spaces after the May 1 enrollment deadline.
Finally, some students will be denied admission
While this is a difficult decision for the committee on admission to make and for a student to receive, candidates who are not deemed to be a match to the Providence College experience will be denied admission. A deny decision at the Regular Decision stage is a final decision, and a student is unable to reapply to Providence College during the current admission cycle.
