Game On! Friars and Video Games

“Video games are a way to take yourself out of the world you are in and place yourself in a different reality,” says Nicole Mazza ’14, a writer and editor for Nintendo who graduated from Providence College with a degree in creative writing. Video games might not be the first thing that come to mind when you think about what you can do with a liberal arts education, but for Nicole and other PC alumni, the two go hand in hand.

The liberal arts introduce us to different perspectives that, like video games, can feel like different realities. The challenge? Navigating these perspectives to discover the truth that connects them.

It’s no wonder, then, that Friar alumni are making successful careers in the video game industry and beyond.
